‘Suspicious minds’ at DA’s office over Elvis impersonator’s child support payments
If he can’t explain why he’s behind in child support payments, Elvis impersonator Trent Carlini could be doing a little jailhouse rocking.
The 47-year-old Carlini, who performs at the Las Vegas Hilton, has an engagement Tuesday with a Family Court hearing master.
Deputy District Attorney Shannon Russell says she’s prepared to ask the hearing master to haul Carlini to jail if it turns out that he’s failed to make his $3,004 monthly payments to his ex-wife.
Last October, authorities determined that Carlini owed his ex-wife, $48,084. A Family Court judge later held the Strip entertainer in contempt and ordered him to serve a 10-day jail sentence.
The order, however, was stayed to give Carlini another chance to impersonate a responsible parent.
But at the district attorney’s office, he’s running out of chances.
When the curtain rises on Tuesday, Carlini could find himself singing, "Don’t be Cruel," all the way to the Clark County Detention Center.
