Task force to advise on Clark County finances
August 5, 2009 - 9:00 pm
A 15-person task force that will offer ideas to Clark County leaders for handling next year's projected budget crunch was formed Tuesday.
County commissioners each picked a task force member, and then collectively chose eight people from various fields to create the panel.
The panel will meet with county staff, focus groups and the public to determine what the county's funding priorities should be. It will give a report to commissioners next year.
The county pulled in $113 million less in tax revenue this year to cover operating costs. Legislative actions also cost the county $180.5 million over the next two years.
