Texting? Yes! Talking? Maybe not

The smarter mobile phones get, the more people do with them. More than 60 percent of the 234 million Americans age 13 and older who are current mobile phone subscribers say they use their phones for text messaging, according to a report by comScore Inc., (Nasdaq: SCOR) a leader in measuring the digital world.
The study by the comScore MobiLens service measured usage in the three months ended in December compared with the three months ended in September. Text messaging to another phone was up 2.1 percent to 63.1 percent. Using a browser on a mobile phone to access the Internet was up 1.5 percent to 27.5 percent; playing games was up just 0.2 percent to 21.6 percent; using downloaded applications was up 1.1 percent to 17.8 percent; accessing social networking or blogs was up 2.1 percent to 15.9 percent and listening to music was up 0.4 percent to 12.1 percent.
Surprisingly, the study doesn't mention using mobile phones for talking to other people.
