THAT OL’ COLLEGE TRY

The entire field has either teed off or finished the third round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin. With the perfect weather conditions holding up, it's going to tough to make up ground on co-leaders Matt Kuchar and Marc Turnesa, as well as Zach Johnson, who began the day one stroke in back of Kuchar and Turnesa.

That's not stopping Mike Allen from trying. The former UNR star is off to a blistering start with three birdies and an eagle over his first four holes. He's at minus-17 overall with plenty of golf still to play.

REBEL UPDATE

Charley Hoffman made the turn at 3-under for his third round and he had UNLV coach Dwaine Knight in his gallery for most of the front nine.

Mike Ruiz, who has had a pretty good week given he got a sponsor's exemption to play, shot a 3-under 69 today and he's minus-9 through three rounds. He has been under par all three rounds, and it's good to see him playing well. He's a nice guy and he stands to pick up a decent check Sunday if he can finish strong.

Chad Campbell and Ryan Moore just started so a close watch will be kept on both as the day progresses. Campbell, who was five shots in back of the leaders going into the third round, is minus-1 through three holes, and Moore, who began the day four shots off of the lead, is even through one hole.

MILLION-DOLLAR MOVE

Friday's concert at Planet Hollywood starring Timberlake generated $1 million for the Shriners Hospitals, according to Timberlake.
