The Final Vote – MLB All-Star Game – Vote early and often

OK, baseball fans. The ball is in your court (or perhaps glove is a better fit here). The Major League Baseball All-Star Game is just a couple of weeks away, and fans have the fun privilege of filling the final roster spot for each league. Voting is easier than ever, as the MLB.com site has details, which lead to a pop-up ballot with the choices for each team. Voters simply fill out a short form that includes an e-mail address and date of birth, along with two opt-out e-mail newsletter check-boxes from MLB.com and Monster.com, sponsor of the voting.

If you don't have a favorite, then cast your ballots for my favorites -- Jermaine Dye of the White Sox and Aaron Rowand of the Giants.

Voters who opt-in will get an offer for a free week of MLB.tv, the usually pricey service that feeds every MLB game live to your computer.

Here are more details on the voting, from the MLB.com site:

There are two ways for fans to vote for the 2008 All-Star Game Final Vote -- online now at MLB.com, or on-the-go from their cell phones. Fans also can text the word "VOTE" to 36197 to have the All-Star Final Vote candidates sent to your phone. To vote for a specific player, simply reply with your choice. In Canada, fans should text the word "VOTE" to 88555. Standard rate text messaging rates apply -- please check with your mobile carrier for details.

I voted several times via the Web ballot, and found it much quicker than the mobile phone option. The final roster spots will be announced Thursday, so get your mouse in gear!
