The Hoff still has headliner dreams
David Hasselhoff hasn't given up on his dream to be a Las Vegas headliner.
To make it happen, he's counting on a big boost from a reality show he's shooting with his two daughters.
Trailed by a camera crew and greeted by adoring fans at every stop, The Hoff was all over Las Vegas on Friday, adding footage for the project.
He made an appearance at the Knight Rider Festival at the Fremont Street Experience, joined comedian George Wallace on stage at the Flamingo Las Vegas, was at the Hofbrauhaus (singing his 1989 German hit "I'm Looking for Freedom") and filmed scenes at Planet Hollywood Resort.
The former Broadway star -- he played Billy Flynn in "Chicago" and pranced as Roger DeBris in the Las Vegas version of "The Producers" -- Hasselhoff has made it no secret that he'd love to end up back on The Strip.
Three years ago, after leaving "The Producers," he told me he had discussed his concept of a "Vegas cool" show with executives at several properties and vowed he was "coming back here."
"He's still talking about it," said a source who recently talked to the former "Baywatch" star who is in the Guinness Book of Records as the most watched TV star in the world.
Hasselhoff, who turns 58 in July, has told reporters he's doing the A&E reality show to prepare his daughters for their own music careers. Taylor-Ann, 19, is a communications major at the University of Arizona; and Hayley, 17, is a model and aspiring actress.
The channel has ordered 10 half-hour episodes for the behind-the-scenes show.
