Time capsule to be buried to mark county’s centennial
December 8, 2009 - 10:00 pm
A time capsule filled with dozens of what someday will be considered historical items will be buried at 11 a.m. today as the final tribute to Clark County's centennial.
A ceremony will be held near the main entrance of the County Government Center, 500 Grand Central Parkway.
The capsule will be reopened for the county's bicentennial in 2109.
Formed on July 1, 1909, the county was named after railroad baron William Andrews Clark. The city of Las Vegas was incorporated in 1911.
