Trial for Jackpot man ordered on sexual abuse allegations

ELKO - A 49-year-old Jackpot man has been ordered to stand trial in district court in Elko County on 26 felony counts related to sexual assault and misconduct with an underage relative.

Steven Case was arrested on July 10 for alleging abusing the teenage girl. In addition to sexual assault, the charges include statutory sexual seduction and lewdness.

The alleged victim testified at a preliminary hearing in justice court in Elko on Thursday that she had sex with him about 30 times over a two-year span. She says he regularly left her notes telling her he wanted to have sex.

Justice of the Peace Barbara Nethery bound him over to district court. A trial date is pending.
