Two Las Vegas restaurants added to exclusive AAA list

Travel club AAA has added two Las Vegas restaurants to its list of Four Diamond eateries in Nevada.

Wolfgang Puck's Cut, inside the Palazzo, and Daniel Boulud Brasserie, inside Wynn Las Vegas, both joined the list, bringing Nevada's total number of Four Diamond restaurants to 31. That makes Nevada No. 6 among states for its share of Four Diamond winners.

All 17 hotel winners are repeat members of the list. The Mirage, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in November, won Four Diamonds for the 20th time. The property owns the longest Four Diamond streak of any local hotel. Four properties celebrate 10 years on the list: Aureole, a restaurant inside Mandalay Bay, and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas have won Four Diamonds for a decade running, as have Mandalay Bay and Paris themselves. The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino earned its 15th Four Diamond honor.

"It has been a very tough year for the hospitality industry as a whole," said Michael Geeser, a spokesman for AAA Nevada, in a statement. "For an establishment to attain a level of service worthy of being placed on the list of AAA Four Diamond-rated properties and restaurants really speaks to the effort and attention put in by management and staff."

Geeser said Four Diamond-rated properties make up just 3.5 percent of the 58,000 lodgings and eateries the organization inspects nationwide.
