Two men fatally shot in separate incidents

Two men were shot to death in two different incidents in the east valley Friday, Las Vegas police said.

A 24-year-old Las Vegas man was killed just after midnight Thursday after he was shot in the back, police said.

Police were called about 12:30 a.m. to the 800 block of Parkhurst Street, near Pecos and Bonanza roads, and found Samuel Blue dead.

Blue, who lived on Parkhurst, was last seen about 9 p.m. Thursday near Nellis and Charleston boulevards.

The second shooting happened about six hours later, and two miles south of the first.

Police were called about 6:40 a.m. with reports of gunfire to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Palm Street, near Charleston.

They found a 37-year-old Las Vegas man dead with multiple gunshot wounds to his stomach and chest, police said.

Lt. Lew Roberts of the homicide unit said both cases lack witnesses and, so far, suspects.

"They don't appear to be related," Roberts said.

Detectives are asking for the public's help. Anyone with information on either case is asked to called the homicide unit at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
