Two more H1N1-related deaths confirmed by health district

Two more people have died from H1N1-related complications, the Southern Nevada Health District confirmed today, bringing the total number of deaths in Clark County to 20.

The two who died were women, 61 and 44 years old, both of whom had underlying medical conditions.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the number of H1N1 deaths is more than 1,000 in the United States. Only H1N1-related deaths confirmed in the laboratory are included in the figure.

Six more deaths were confirmed last week in Clark County. Four out of the six had underlying medical conditions. A 40-year-old man had no underlying medical conditions, and it could not be determined if another man, 50 years old, had underlying medical conditions.
