UFC 125: Edgar retains lightweight title after draw in main event

Gray Maynard and Frankie Edgar fought to a draw in the main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship card at the MGM Grand on Saturday night.

The result means Edgar retains the UFC lightweight title.

Maynard, a Las Vegan, completely dominated the first round, but Edgar was able to survive the onslaught and do enough the rest of the way to salvage the draw at UFC 125.

One judge gave each of the fighters the bout, while the third judge ruled it a draw.

Mayard is the only fighter to defeat Edgar, winning a unanimous decision in 2008.

Also, Brian Stann knocked out Chris Leben in the first round.
