UNLV-TCU: Rebels hammer Horned Frogs, 83-49, for first MWC win of season

Tre’Von Willis scored a season-high 22 points and Chace Stanback had 15 as UNLV rolled to an 83-49 victory over Texas Christian in a Mountain West Conference game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The 25th-ranked Rebels (13-3, 1-1) blew open the game with a 24-0 first-half run and led 49-28 at halftime.
Justin Hawkins had 13 points, Anthony Marshall 11 and Carlos Lopez 10 for UNLV.
The Horned Frogs fell to 9-8 overall and 0-2 in the MWC, after losing their league opener to San Diego State on Wednesday.

Chace Stanback scored 14 points to lift UNLV to a 49-28 halftime lead over Texas Christian in a Mountain West Conference game at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Rebels (12-3, 0-1) started slowly, shooting 3-for-11 from the field and falling behind 12-8. But they erased the deficit with a 24-0 run to blow it open.
Stanback made a 3-pointer and followed with a fast-break dunk to put UNLV up 19-12 with 11:04 left. Tre’Von Willis’ two free throws extended the lead to 32-12.
The Horned Frogs (9-7, 0-1) finally stopped the onslaught when Greg Hill hit three free throws to make it 32-15 with 7:33 to go.
Willis scored nine points and Justin Hawkins had eight points and four steals for UNLV.
