UNR dorms conduct lockdown for four hours after shooting
RENO -- A shooting at the University of Nevada, Reno within nine hours of a separate but similar incident near campus prompted a four-hour lockdown of dormitories, police said.
Campus Police Chief Adam Garcia said a man who is not a student suffered a gunshot wound to the leg after he was shot Saturday night near the Fleischmann Building.
A school police spokesman said the lockdown ended after midnight.
Reno police said the second shooting came nine hours after a burglary attempt on Friday near the campus. Police said the incidents appeared to be unrelated, but both involved a resident and burglary suspects.
