Victim was guilty in ’04 death
The man shot dead on Halloween night pleaded guilty four years ago to involuntary manslaughter in the beating death of a 19-year-old man.
The victim, Charles Tice, was beaten, had a seizure and fell unconscious. He was placed on life support and died at University Medical Center in 2004.
Arbuary Fuller was sentenced in 2005 to a minimum of 19 months in prison and a maximum of 48 months.
Fuller, 40, was shot multiple times Saturday night outside his apartment at the Shepherd Hills Townhomes, at 1950 Simmons Street, near Vegas and Rancho drives. He died at UMC.
Police have released few details of the slaying and no suspect descriptions. Fuller's mother-in-law told the Review-Journal on Monday that she saw two suspects flee the scene moments after the shots were fired. She believes that Fuller was targeted.
Fuller's sister, Juvina Aggor, said Fuller was the father of nine. He was caring for seven of those children in Las Vegas. The other two are in California.
"He took care of the kids. That's what he did," Aggor said.
She said her brother never talked to her about the April 2004 incident.
According to the arrest report of one of his co-defendants, a fight broke out between Tice and Fuller after Tice kicked Fuller's then-10-year-old son in the buttocks. Nobody won the fight and those involved went their separate ways.
The next day, Tice was attacked by four people, including Fuller. They began to kick Tice in the head and torso, the report states. Witnesses also said Fuller prevented Tice's brother from breaking up the fight.
Aggor said she didn't know why her brother was shot. She has heard several rumors, including that the shooting may have been retaliation for Fuller confronting someone over stealing one of his son's bicycles.
"We want justice, and if anybody knows anything, please call Crime Stoppers," she said.
