Victims of NLV fire identified

Two women killed this weekend when their North Las Vegas mobile home caught fire were identified Monday as Shirley Bridenbaker and Phyllis Barker.

Bridenbaker, 63, and Barker, 62, lived at the home at 4714 N. Kenny Way, near Craig Road and Simmons Street. North Las Vegas firefighters arrived there at 12:37 a.m. Saturday and found heavy smoke and flames shooting from windows.

The owner of the property called firefighters and alerted them to the blaze, the Fire Department said. He was able to escape the fire. Firefighters were able to pull the bodies of Bridenbaker and Barker out of the mobile home.

Two pets also died. The cause appears to be electrical in nature, officials said.
