Washington man on the run finds time to update Facebook

PORT ANGELES, Wash. -- A 26-year-old man in Washington is on the run from police, but he still had time to tell his Facebook friends that he "got away thanks bro."

Travis A. Nicolaysen escaped from officers during two foot chases Wednesday and a dragnet that included a police dog tracking him through a Port Angeles neighborhood. He is wanted for failing to check in with his parole officer, and he's accused of assaulting his girlfriend.

Or perhaps it was his ex-girlfriend, since he also updated his relationship status on Facebook to say he is now single.

An aunt confirmed that the Facebook accounted belonged to Nicolaysen, who did not immediately respond to a message Monday.

Port Angeles police say they're checking Facebook as part of their search for him.
