“We apologize for the inconvenience … “

That's what was on the sign greeting the apparently-too-few dedicated customers of Louis's Fish Camp at Town Square, just south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Boulevard.

Louis’s "is no longer in business," according to the sign.

The restaurant and an affiliated bar were deep in the heart of the mall, but at a second-story location that wasn't easy or obvious to access.

The Review-Journal sent an e-mail to an address on the restaurant's Web site and got no reply.

A customer entry on the Web site www.yelp.com indicates the location has been closed since at least Nov. 15.

That's almost one year to the day after developers opened phase one of Town Square, a mixed use mall they said would eventually encompass 1.5 million square feet of space at a cost of $750 million.

Unfortunately, they opened at the top of an unprecedented real estate bubble and, while often crowded with customers, Town Square hasn't been able to fill all of its storefronts.

In addition to a shuttered Louis's, there were plenty of empty sidewalk kiosks and not much customer foot traffic on Friday afternoon.
