What’s the buzz with Buzz?

Just in the nick of time, another social networking tool arrives. Google today launched Buzz, a new platform incorporated into its old Gmail platform. If you want to play, you'll need a Gmail account.

A good feature, especially if you already use Gmail, is that there's no setup. If you have Gmail you have Buzz. I watched the video explaining the basics of Buzz, but haven't yet seen the benefits. One downside to Buzz for me is that I use my Gmail account primarily for e-mail lists and other mailings that I’d rather not have clogging my primary personal account, which is with Yahoo!

Buzz will roll together updates, photos, comments and links from your Gmail-using buddies. There's a mobile flavor, too, at buzz.google.com.

My account hasn't yet been updated to include the Buzz link on the left rail, just below the "Compose Mail" link. Google said it is updating all of its user accounts, and asked for patience. You can learn more about Buzz and see the video here:
http://www.google.com/buzz

and see even more at the Gmail blog:

I'll have more on Buzz in the near future, and invite you to share your thoughts about it after you've had a chance to take it for a spin.
