Wildfires cause air quality advisory for area

An air quality advisory has been issued in Clark County because of smoke from wildfires in California.

The advisory warning of possible unhealthful smoke will be in effect from today until Sunday, according to the Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management.

Smoke is made of small dust particles and other pollutants that can aggravate respiratory diseases.

Air quality officials do not believe unhealthful levels of air pollution will occur, but will continue to monitor the situation.

The wildfires are burning about 26 miles east of Santa Maria, Calif.
