Woman, 19, held in double-fatal crash

A suspected drunken driver was arrested after crashing into a vehicle and killing two 66-year-old people in Henderson on Tuesday.

Anita Mann, 19, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on two counts of driving under the influence resulting in death for the 11:40 a.m. crash.

Henderson police said she was driving a Hyundai Accent east on Horizon Ridge Parkway at Shaded Canyon Drive, near Gibson Road, when she rear-ended a Hyundai sport utility vehicle.

The SUV spun out of control and overturned. Both the 66-year-old male driver from Henderson and his 66-year-old female passenger died at the scene. Their names were not released.

Mann was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police had received reports of a drunken driver about five minutes before the accident in the area of Horizon Ridge Parkway and Stephanie Street, nearly two miles from the crash scene.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The results of Mann's blood test are pending, police said.
