Woman charged with DUI, texting after crash injures two near Reno

RENO - Some motorists are arrested for driving under the influence. Some are even cited for texting while driving. But one woman has been arrested on both allegations in the same incident.

Heather Dyer was arrested on suspicion of texting while driving and drunken driving in connection with a crash that injured two construction workers near Reno. She is accused of crashing into construction equipment in a controlled work zone Wednesday night on Interstate 580.

KRNV-TV reported that two workers on the scene were sent to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The Nevada Highway Patrol also arrested the 20-year-old Dyer on charges of driving with a suspended license, being a minor in possession of alcohol and failure to maintain a lane.

Her bail was set at $6,665, and she has since been released from the Washoe County jail.
