Woman dies when car goes into ravine

A Las Vegas woman died this weekend when the car she was driving went off the road and dropped 100 feet into a ravine, Nevada Highway Patrol troopers said.

Aynsley Rinella, 25, died from multiple injuries suffered in the crash, according to the Clark County coroner's office. Her death was ruled an accident.

Rinella is the daughter of gaming executive Frank Rinella and Heidi Knapp Rinella, the Review-Journal's restaurant critic and food writer.

Trooper Joseph Fackrell said the single-vehicle accident happened Saturday afternoon near state Route 147 and Pabco Road, about five miles east of Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards .

Rinella was driving toward Las Vegas from Lake Las Vegas, where she worked at the Ritz-Carlton, he said.

Her family reported her missing on Saturday. Her car, which was not visible from the road, was found early Sunday morning. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"No one saw her go off the road, so nobody reported it," Fackrell said, adding that alcohol was not suspected in the crash.
