Woman faces charges after visit to prison
Authorities allege a 26-year-old Las Vegas Valley woman attempted to smuggle marijuana into High Desert State Prison for an inmate Saturday.
Myisha Mills was booked into the county jail on several counts, including furnishing a controlled substance to an inmate, possession of marijuana and child endangerment, Nevada Department of Corrections spokeswoman Suzanne Pardee said.
Mills was charged with child endangerment because she had a child with her at the time of the incident. Mills' bail was set at $12,000, Pardee said.
She was the second woman in eight days to be arrested on charges of trying to provide drugs to an inmate at the prison in Indian Springs.
On Sept. 21, authorities arrested Cheryl Rosales.
Rosales also was booked into the county jail and faces charges similar to Mills, including child endangerment.
