A Las Vegas man has been charged in the death of a 26-year-old woman who died after a blaze early Sunday morning tore through their apartment near H Street and Owens Avenue.
Michael Treadwell, 28, a resident of the apartment, was arrested and charged with murder and first-degree arson. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center .
The woman, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center. She was not breathing and did not have a heartbeat when firefighters discovered her.
The Las Vegas Fire Department said firefighters were alerted to the blaze about 4:09 a.m. at 1701 J. St., the Sherman Garden Apartments, a Las Vegas Housing Authority complex.
