Woman found dead in burning house was from South Carolina

A woman found dead in a house on the western edge of Summerlin this week was identified today by the Clark County coroner’s office as 28-year-old Karen Michelle Heely of Conway, S.C.

The coroner’s office hadn’t yet determined the cause and manner of Heely’s death.

Heely was found Sunday evening at 8 Panorama Crest Ave., where Clark County Fire Department crews were battling a blaze.

Scott Allison, a spokesman for the fire department, said the cause of the fire was still being investigated. He said Las Vegas police were assisting with the investigation.

According to county records, the house, near Desert Inn Road and the Las Vegas Beltway, has 4,380 square feet and was last sold in 2002 for nearly $1 million.
