Woman killed in car accident

A 45-year-old Las Vegas woman was killed Friday night after the pickup truck she was riding in was struck by a drunken driver, police said.

Las Vegas police said the woman was riding in a 2006 Ford Ranger that was traveling south on Wilshire Street crossing the intersection of Doe Avenue, a residential neighborhood near Decatur and Oakey boulevards.

At 10:57 p.m. the truck was struck in the intersection by a 1965 Chevrolet Impala driven by 19-year-old Michael Dobrijevich, police said.

The Impala was traveling west on Doe and failed to stop at the stop sign at Wilshire, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, 48-year-old Damon Teuscher, suffered minor injuries and was taken to University Medical Center.

Dobrijevich was also taken to UMC with minor injuries. Police then arrested him on a charge of felony driving under the influence resulting in death.
