Woman pulled from burning car in garage
Las Vegas firefighters rescued a woman from a burning car that had crashed into a garage near Del Webb and Lake Mead boulevards Tuesday.
Firefighters were called about 6:45 p.m. to 2424 La Sierra St. in Summerlin and found a garage filled with smoke and neighbors using garden hoses to spray water on the fire, said fire department spokesman Tim Szymanski.
A woman was inside the garage screaming, Szymanski said. The vehicle she was trapped in was on top of another car parked in the garage.
Firefighters quickly doused the flames and pulled the woman from the car. She was treated and taken to University Medical Center. A firefighter was taken to UMC for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The two cars were heavily damaged, Szymanski said, and the house had minor damage.
It appears the woman lost control of the vehicle she was driving and crashed into the garage, Szymanski said.
