Woman shot in chest drives for help

A woman shot in the chest through her car window Friday morning was able to drive herself from the scene and seek help at a nearby convenience store.

Las Vegas police on Friday night were still looking for the suspect.

They said they knew of no motive for the shooting.

The man approached the 30-year-old victim while she waited to leave the parking garage of her Little Pine Way residence about 6:30 a.m., police said.

She told authorities the gunman fired a shot through her car window and she was hit in the upper body.

The woman, whom police did not identify, was able to continue driving before stopping for help at a Rebel Oil convenience store on West Lake Mead Boulevard near Torrey Pines Drive.

Police said her injuries were not life-threatening and she was transported to University Medical Center in stable condition.
