Woman shot in head during West Wendover carjacking

WEST WENDOVER -- Police are searching for a man and woman accused of shooting a woman in the head during a carjacking Saturday morning in West Wendover.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported the 35-year-old victim was able to make her way to the West Wendover Police Department and was flown by medical helicopter to a Salt Lake City hospital for treatment. Her condition wasn't immediately known.

Police said the suspects then drove the woman's vehicle to Wells, where they ditched it. They're accused of stealing another car there before leading Nevada Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase.
