Women in fatal Friday crash identified

Two women killed in a head-on collision in Pahrump Friday morning have been identified as 46-year-old Jackie Jean Hogan-Atayde and 50-year-old Anesie Louise Mcabee.

Both women are from Pahrump.

Hogan-Atayde was driving a Honda Civic north on State Route 160 approaching Mesquite Road when, for reasons unknown, her car drifted over the center line and into oncoming traffic, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The car struck the front of a Pontiac Aztek traveling south on State Route 160.

Hogan-Atayde and Mcabee, her passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Aztek, a 75-year-old man, was airlifted to University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
