Wood, Carvalho advance in North Las Vegas council race

Anita Wood and Angelo Carvalho advanced from a field of six in the North Las Vegas Ward 3 City Council race today and will face off in the general election in June.

Wood, a 45-year-old stay-at-home mom and former planning commissioner, won about 24 percent of the vote.

Carvalho, a 41-year-old small-business owner, Army reservist and chairman of the city’s Planning Commission, took about 23 percent of votes.
