Worker dies on job at Mirage

A repairman plunged five stories to his death Friday after falling into an elevator shaft at The Mirage.

The man was performing routine maintenance on a hotel service elevator when he tumbled into the shaft and landed on top of an empty elevator car about 11 a.m., hotel spokeswoman Yvette Monet said.

He fell from the 30th floor to the 25th floor, she said.

He was employed by ThyssenKrupp Elevator, which is based in Frisco, Texas. His name was not immediately available.
