WRANGLERS FALL TO CONDORS 6-3

The Las Vegas Wranglers were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors 6-3 on Friday night in front of 5,557 fans at the Orleans Arena. Condors' left wing Mark Derlago tallied a hat trick as Bakersfield clinched the seventh seed in the National Conference with the victory. Wranglers rookie center Adam Miller scored twice as the Condors snapped the Wranglers five-game winning streak. Rookie goalie Tyler Sims made his Las Vegas debut, suffering the loss with 29 saves on 34 Bakersfield shots. Las Vegas will host Phoenix on Saturday night at 7:05 pm.

Las Vegas took its only lead of the game as rookie Adam Miller fired the puck off a Bakersfield defender and into the net for his second goal of the season. Left wing Marco Peluso set up the goal at 12:32 of the first period, giving Las Vegas a 1-0 lead. The Condors sprung back with a pair of goals before the end of the opening period. Defenseman Jay Langager scored his third goal of the season at 17:47, tying the game 1-1. Mark Derlago scored his first goal of the night for Bakersfield, giving the Condors a 2-1 lead after one period of play.

In the second period, Las Vegas tied the game 2-2 as Miller scored his second goal of the evening at 1:40. Defensemen Aaron Power and Jason Krischuk set up the power-play tally, Miller's third goal of the season. Bakersfield roared back with three unanswered goals, including two more in the second period. Forward Tim Konsorada lifted Bakersfield to a 3-2 lead at 9:27, while right wing Chris Di Ubaldo increased the lead to 4-2 at 19:22.

In the third period, Derlago struck for the second time, boosting the Bakersfield lead to 5-2. The Condors left winger, tallied his 38th goal of the season at 1:11. The Wranglers pulled back to within a pair of goals as Shawn Limpright scored his 11th goal of the season on a breakaway at 8:50, trimming the Bakersfield lead to 5-3. The Condors added an empty-net goal at 19:48. Left wing Mark Derlago finished off the hat trick with 12-seconds remaining.

The Wranglers will host Phoenix on Saturday, April 5th at 7:05 pm. Las Vegas will also host Game 1 of the National Conference Quarter Finals on Friday, April 11th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
