WSJ blogger slaps silly Sun editor silly over Sunday column
James Taranto's "Best of the Web" posting at the WSJ Opinion website makes light of Sun editor Brian Greenspun's Sunday column that called anyone who would vote for Sharron Angle stupid, much like one of his front page columnists did earlier in the week, and which I took to task.
Taranto gives Greenspun a genuine horse laugh and concludes by throwing the stupid-to-vote-for-Angle contention back in his face with a series of quotes out of the mouth of Harry Reid:
— "You take the Hillside Dairy case. In that case you had a dissent written by Scalia and a dissent written by Thomas. There -- it's like looking at an eighth-grade dissertation compared to somebody who just graduated from Harvard."
— "My staff tells me not to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway, in the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it's true."
— "We need them to be forced to do mammograms. That's why you see breast cancer awareness month, you see the baseball players wearing pink shoes and you see the football players having pink helmets."
— Obama is a "light-skinned" African-American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
Taranto concludes, "But could anyone actually believe his central argument -- that re-electing Reid would cause the country to think that Nevadans are smart?
"Nah, no one is that stupid"
