Youngest tour bus crash victim released from hospital

The youngest victim of Friday's deadly tour bus crash south of Hoover Dam is the first to be released from University Medical Center, hospital officials said today.

An unidentified 8-year-old male was discharged from UMC, where several injured Chinese tourists were taken after a fatal rollover accident in Arizona, on U.S. Highway 93, about 27 miles south of the dam.

The condition of the 48-year-old bus driver improved from serious to fair today, UMC spokesman Rick Plummer said. The bus driver and three other victims are still under care at UMC.

Two other crash victims are at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. A 57-year-old man and 18-year-old woman were listed in serious condition Saturday.

Seventeen people were on the bus. Seven deaths have been reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
