Letters

LETTERS: McConnell, Senate obstruct justice with Supreme Court tactics

Once in a while, an issue such as federal lands gets groups of citizens into such a state of frustration that they just erupt. Right or wrong, they are just so fed up with what they are seeing that they lash out in an effort to get people behind them.

LETTERS: Rooftop solar owners err in citing Crescent Dunes

DeWayne McCormick’s letter was yet another espousing the virtues of rooftop solar, while lambasting NV Energy and the Public Utilities Commission (“Harming rooftop solar,” Wednesday Review-Journal).

LETTERS: Roberson, Legislature should invest in public education

It was so nice of Nevada Senate Majority Leader Michael Roberson to remind us of how much he and the Republican-run Legislature were looking out for the interests of children when they pushed through their “groundbreaking” education reform bill (“School choice,” Feb. 3 Review-Journal letters).

LETTERS: RJ errs by running High Roller article

Who approved printing sex tips for those riding the High Roller? (“Vitalvegas.com’s 11 vital tips for having sex on the High Roller,” Wednesday Review-Journal). Encouraging illegal behavior should not be happening in your newspaper.

LETTERS: Time is now for first woman president

I have watched all the Democratic debates and town halls, and I agree with Sen. Bernie Sanders that a revolution must occur. I do, however, believe that Sen. Sanders is part of the establishment, because of all his congressional committee work. The revolution is for Hillary Clinton.

THE LATEST
LETTERS: VA shouldn’t scale back prescription services

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ run for the White House is even scarier than the thought of Hillary Clinton becoming president, but I think recent local news about the Department of Veterans Affairs is more important to many veterans in Southern Nevada.

LETTERS: Graney’s ‘Deflategate’ joke falls flat

Regarding Ed Graney’s article on the NFL honoring the high school of every player or head coach who was on an active roster in one of the previous 49 Super Bowls, when will Mr. Graney and the rest of the country move on from this “Deflategate” nonsense?

LETTERS: Rubio lacks relevant experience

I found it surprising that in endorsing Sen. Marco Rubio for Nevada’s Republican presidential caucus, the Review-Journal editorial board chose charisma over competence (“For the Republican caucus,” Sunday RJ).

LETTERS: Judges should be appointed, not voted in

Having moved to Nevada years ago, I’ve noticed articles on a regular basis about judges in trouble or even violating the law themselves.
