The city of Las Vegas will request up to $9.5 million from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to fund capital improvements at the Fremont Street Experience. The Lights FC are going to be bright in their inaugural season Las Vegas’ United Soccer League club unveiled its home jerseys Wednesday at sponsor Zappos’ Downtown campus The jersey features a black background with the Lights logo below the neck and Zappos’ logo across the chest, but there’s also neon blue, yellow and pink throughout “It’s very different from other teams,” Lights midfielder Julian Portugal said. “Even pro teams in Spain, England, they have generic jerseys. This is different. I like it.” The neon accents were designed by Zappos art director Fernando Cabestany “It’s flashy, and I think that’s what we want to represent,” Lights defender Zak Drake said. “Las Vegas is a flashy city, so the jersey represents it really well.”
Lonzo Ball Expecting First Child With Girlfriend According to reports, Ball, 20, and his girlfriend Denise Garcia will be having a baby, who’s gender has yet to be revealed. The two started dating when they were teenagers at Chino Hills High School. TMZ reported Garcia is four months pregnant and the baby is “very healthy.” This season, Ball is averaging 10.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 7.1 assists in 36 games for the Los Angeles Lakers.

A Technical Rescue Team was on the scene around 1:30 a.m. pulling the vehicle out of the water. Rescue crews donned wet suits to help pull the man out of the vehicle.

Reno native David Wise will participate in his second Winter Olympics this month. Wise won a gold medal in the halfpipe skiing event in the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Wise said he is feeling 100 percent heading into the Games after two of the hardest years of his life. He is considered one of the favorites in the halfpipe skiing event.

It’s official. The National Football League’s Raiders have scored a multimillion dollar deal on 55 acres in Henderson for the team’s future practice facility and headquarters. The Henderson City Council voted Tuesday to sell the land located near the southwest corner of St. Rose Parkway and Executive Airport Drive to the Raiders, who are slated to move from Oakland and call Southern Nevada home in 2020. “This is just an ideal situation for both the Raiders and the city of Henderson,” Councilman John Marz said during the meeting. “It does everything the city wanted to do. It will bring a lot of jobs, revenue and it’s a good kickstart for that part of the valley.” The land, with an appraised value of $12.1 million, was sold to the team for $6.05 million. Don Webb, a stadium consultant hired for the Raiders, told the council in January that the team plans to finish construction of the facility in the spring of 2020.
