Khabib Nurmagomedov-Tony Ferguson fight to headline UFC 223

UFC lightweight stars Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson again have been booked to fight. The bout will headline UFC 223 on April 7 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. UFC officials will formally announce the event at a Friday news conference in Boston. UFC president Dana White discussed the bout during a radio appearance Wednesday in Boston, saying he expected the fight to be in April. Ferguson holds the interim belt, and Nurmagomedov is the unquestioned top contender, but Conor McGregor still has the title in the division. White has said McGregor, who last fought in the UFC in November 2016, could be stripped of the title if he doesn’t fight again soon. The UFC 223 bout will mark the fourth time Ferguson and Nurmagomedov have been scheduled to fight. Ferguson won the interim title with a submission of Kevin Lee in December, his 10th straight victory. Nurmagomedov is 25-0 overall, 9-0 in the UFC.

The Right Take: Nevada has a strong public records law

The law states that giving the public access to government records “foster(s) democratic principles.” That’s strong rhetoric and rightly so. Government officials work for the public. That makes members of the public, the boss. One of your rights as a supervisor is to know what your employees are doing. Too often they refuse.

Current and former city of Henderson officials face sexual harassment allegations

A sexual harassment investigation forced out Patrick Moers as Henderson’s police chief last year, sources told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. But sexual harassment allegations against the Police Department aren’t limited to the investigation of Moers. Although no names were given, several police officers have said that sexual harassment is rampant throughout the department. Sources also told the Review-Journal that Assistant City Manager Greg Blackburn is the subject of a sexual harassment investigation in Henderson. Victimized Henderson employees won’t speak up for fear of losing their jobs, multiple sources told the Review-Journal. Mayor Debra March told the Review-Journal in December that Henderson’s “culture of fear” is unacceptable. The Henderson City Council has said nothing publicly about the allegations.
