El Cortez giving away gift cards; Palms offering Alaskan cruise

The El Cortez is celebrating August by bringing back its popular jackpot gift card program. All this month, Club Cortez players winning a $200-plus slot jackpot or $300-plus video poker jackpot can receive their choice of a $10 gift card from either Wal-Mart, Smith’s, Shell or Chevron. There is no limit to the number of gift cards a player can earn. The casino also is giving away two free nights at the new Cabana Suites to all $1,200-plus jackpot winners.

Threatened automotive program benefits area dealers
