The holidays are a time for gatherings, spreading warmth and cheer, and looking out for one another. For Nevada families who need a little extra help this winter, we are ready to lend our support. Through the Energy Share Program (Energy Share or Program), Southwest Gas and its customers who contribute to this program remain committed to fueling the communities it serves, helping ensure every household stays safe, warm, and comfortable this winter.
“The people we serve in Nevada are more than just our customers, they are our neighbors,” says Amy Timperley, Southwest Gas Senior Vice President/Chief Regulatory, Public Affairs & Gas Resources Officer. “We want to ensure that they can safely heat their homes this season and have peace of mind knowing that help is available should they need it.”

Help for Heating Homes, Winter Bills
For those facing an unexpected financial hardship, including government employees impacted by the recent shutdown, the Southwest Gas Energy Share Program provides short-term emergency assistance to help cover natural gas bills and prevent service interruptions. Administered in partnership with HELP of Southern Nevada, Energy Share supports families navigating crisis – applicants must either have an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines or demonstrate an urgent or emergency need.
Timperley says that Southwest Gas also offers additional tools to help customers manage their winter bills, including flexible payment arrangements and other support options.

Giving Back
Thanks to the generosity of Southwest Gas customers and community partners, the Energy Share program distributed over $1.1M in assistance to 3,529 households in 2024. More than half of these funds supported Nevada families, reflecting the state’s strong tradition of helping neighbors in need. This program ensures households can enjoy life’s essentials, from a warm home to a hot meal, during the moments that matter most.
“We’re grateful for the local organizations we collaborate with in Nevada and across all our service territories to support our neighbors in need,” says Timperley. “Programs like Energy Share reflect the compassion in our community, and we’re thankful for the generosity of customers who give so that others can experience comfort this season.”
If you’re able and inspired to give back this season, donations to Energy Share can be made at www.swgas.com/energyshare. Every contribution directly supports community members experiencing hardship. Donations are tax-deductible and distributed by trusted assistance agencies.
