5 ways to spend that special day with your loved one

(BPT) - Valentine’s Day is often stressful, whether you’re trying to decide what to do for that special someone or looking for a fun activity with friends. If you’re at a loss for ideas, here are seven that will get you started.
1. Give a gift you can enjoy together

Give a gift that provides a fun activity for you and your Valentine, like tickets to a sporting event, the theater or sign up for a class to take together, like wine tasting. Browse social media for additional ideas and don't forget a card. Take a couple of extra minutes to write a thoughtful note to your Valentine.
2. Create a gift of your own inspiration

You don't have to spend a lot of money to give a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift. Make homemade cookies and package them up in a decorative tin. This is a fun gift for co-workers as well without getting too personal. And don’t forget that Chase Freedom gives 5 percent cash back at grocery stores through March 31.
3. Have a spa party

Invite your friends over for an evening of pampering with an at-home spa party. Serve healthy food and make homemade beauty treatments, like an oatmeal and honey scrub or a foot bath of rose petals and powdered milk.
4. Create a menu that sparkles

Choose a menu that is easy to execute and indulgent without being too heavy. Keep the hors d'oeuvres and the dessert assembly-only so you can focus on the entree. And don’t forget to break out the bubbly, light candles, make a playlist and buy some roses to complete the look.
5. Celebrate as a family

Show your family some love by celebrating together. Go to the supermarket and let everyone pick their favorite items, then come home and cook together. Or have a family movie night. Regardless, remember to shop smart: use Chase Freedom to buy movie tickets or groceries, and receive 5 percent cash back through March 31.
