(BPT) - As the sun sets on Halloween night, children will transform into vampires, witches and pumpkins while they prepare for what many of them look forward to most – trick-or-treating. The suspense of not knowing what kind of treat you’ll get is always exciting, but this American trick-or-treating tradition can be a major concern for some families. An estimated one in 13 U.S. children lives with food allergies, a common cause of anaphylaxis (a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction). To be aware of those managing potentially life-threatening (severe) allergies, there are several things to keep in mind this Halloween season.
