■ HIGHLIGHTS: At Des Moines, Iowa, Collin Cowgill’s two-out grand slam in the fourth inning gave the 51s an 8-2 lead. ... Also for Las Vegas (21-23), Francisco Pena went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, and Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a leadoff homer. ... Zack Wheeler picked up his third consecutive victory and his third in four starts. His ERA is 2.16 over that span. ... The Cubs (18-25) hit three one-run homers. ... Las Vegas will go for the series split today. The Cubs won the first two games by a run each, but they haven’t won a four-game series this season. It’s the last meeting of the season between these teams.
