51s cap homestand with extra-inning win

The Las Vegas 51s needed extra innings Tuesday to beat the Rainiers, 5-4, at Cashman Field.
Clark County School District students helped build a crowd of 9,686 for the annual School Day Game, which started at 10:35 a.m.
The 51s scored first on a solo homer by Matt den Dekker and added runs in the fourth and seventh innings. Tacoma erased the deficit to force extra innings and scored a run in the top of the 10th inning.
But Allan Dykstra and Zach Lutz each drove in a run to rally the 51s. Reliever Jeff Walters got the win.
Las Vegas took three out of four games in the short home stand to improve to 28-11, the best record in the Pacific Coast League. The 51s are off Wednesday and begin an eight-game road trip Thursday with their first visit to the new Southwestern University Park in Texas, home of the El Paso Chihuahuas.
