51s lose again to River Cats

The 51s gave up three third-inning runs Tuesday, including the decisive run on a two-out steal of home, and lost to the Sacramento River Cats 3-2 in the Pacific Coast League at West Sacramento, Calif.
Las Vegas, which is off today and returns to action Thursday at Cashman Field to start a four-game series against Salt Lake, was swept by the River Cats and fell to a league-worst 5-14.
Eric Patterson's steal of home -- his ninth stolen base of the season -- highlighted the River Cats' third. Chris Denorfia singled home two earlier in the inning.
Sacramento starter Gio Gonzalez (1-0) got the win, allowing two runs over 5 1/3 innings.
Las Vegas scored once in the fourth on an RBI single from Scott Campbell and again in the fifth on a wild pitch by Gonzalez.
Brett Cecil (0-3) took the loss for the 51s.
