51s pull out one-run win vs. Sky Sox
Blake DeWitt singled in Xavier Paul with the tiebreaking run in the eighth inning, and the Las Vegas 51s gained a 7-6 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in the Pacific Coast League on Sunday at Colorado Springs.
The hit capped a 5-for-5 game by DeWitt, all singles.
The 51s had a 6-0 lead by the fifth inning, powered by two-run homers by John Lindsey (his 25th) and Mitch Jones (16th). But the Sky Sox battled back with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, three in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Paul went 3-for-4 for the 51s and Lindsey had three RBIs.
Ryan Spilborghs was 3-for-5 for the Sky Sox, including a tying solo homer in the seventh.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielders Andruw Jones and Delwyn Young have been with Las Vegas since Aug. 16 on rehabilitation assignments. In seven games each with the 51s, Jones is batting .429 (9-for-21) with three homers and eight RBIs and Young is hitting .130 (3-for-23), with all three hits coming Friday. ... Dodgers hurler Yhency Brazoban joined the 51s on Wednesday for a rehab stint and Scott Proctor and Jason Schmidt also are scheduled to make rehab appearances this week for Las Vegas. Proctor is expected to throw an inning today and Schmidt is slated to pitch an inning Tuesday.
