51s put plenty on base, but fail to capitalize vs. Rainiers

The 51s racked up 10 hits Monday night, but they left nine baserunners stranded and went just 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position, losing to the Tacoma Rainiers 4-2 in Pacific Coast League play in Tacoma, Wash.

Tacoma (55-55) broke a 1-1 tie with a run in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth. In the fifth, Kyle Seager got a one-out double, and one out later, Alex Liddi singled Seager home.

In the sixth, Las Vegas starter Chad Beck got the first two batters out, but Trayvon Robinson then singled, followed by doubles from Matt Tuiasosopo and Luis Rodriguez, with Rodriguez's hit scoring two.

The 51s (54-56) tied the game at 1 on Ricardo Nanita's RBI groundout in the second inning. David Cooper added an RBI single in the seventh inning for Las Vegas.
