51s rained out at Iowa, doubleheader set

At Des Moines, Iowa, the series-opening game between the 51s and Iowa Cubs was postponed Monday because of rain.

The game will be made up today as part of a doubleheader starting at 10:05 a.m. Doubleheader games are seven innings.

Mets prospect Rafael Montero is expected to start the first game, taking Collin McHugh’s turn in the rotation after he was called up to New York. The hard-throwing Montero, 22, was 4-3 with a 3.47 ERA in eight starts for Double-A Binghamton, striking out 54 while walking just six in 46 2/3 innings. He is expected to return to Binghamton after the game.
