51s rapped by Reno in series finale

The Reno Aces tagged 51s starter Rey Gonzalez for 10 runs in four innings and coasted to a 12-2 victory in the Pacific Coast League on Thursday at Reno.

Gonzalez (3-2) gave up 13 hits, including a third-inning solo homer by Conor Jackson, who is on a rehab assignment from the Arizona Diamondbacks with a pulled hamstring.

Reno (14-14) scored three runs in the first, five in the second and two in the fourth to wrap up a 3-1 record in the teams' four-game series.

The Aces compiled 15 hits, and Ryan Roberts was 3-for-5 with four RBIs including a solo home run off Sean Henn in the sixth. Chris Rahl knocked in three runs, and Jeff Bailey and Jackson each had two RBIs.

The 51s (13-15) mustered five hits and scored single runs in the third and fourth. Aces starter Bryan Augenstein (1-4) allowed four hits and one earned run in seven innings, striking out five and walking two.

Las Vegas begins a four-game series at Tacoma at 7 p.m. today before returning home Tuesday to start an eight-game homestand that includes four games each against Iowa and Omaha.
